Centre academics produce report on antimicrobial resistance

FOUR members of the Wellcome Centre for Cultures and Environment team have produced a new policy brief on antimicrobial resistance.

The lead author was Dr Katie Ledingham, and co-authored with WCCEH director Professor Mark Jackson, WCCEH deputy director Professor Steve Hinchliffe and co-director of the WHO Collaborating Centre for Cultural Contexts of Health Dr Felicity Thomas.

Biomedicine has advanced greatly over the last few years leading to improvements in human health prospects in many parts of the globe. Numerous complex health-relates challenges still remain and have persisted or emerged recently. These issues are difficult to address through science an technology alone.

The policy brief recognises and addresses key challenges towards the development and implementation of effective policies.

The report ties in with the work of the Wellcome Centre for Cultures and Environments of Health.
